Mining the Personal Archive of Allen Ginsberg

I collaborated with powerHouse Books, the Allen Ginsberg Estate, and author Pat Thomas on Material Wealth: Mining the Personal Archive of Allen Ginsberg, a 256-page assemblage of ephemera produced, collected, and stockpiled by the seminal Beat poet. I saw the greatest minds of his generation in photographs, letters, notes, flyers, posters, Yoko Ono’s phone number, a transcript of a call with Kissinger… and molded the contents into a meta-narrative that goes beyond being an archive, and treats the matter as raw material for experiment and interpretation.
